Rugby Shirts

There are 3 men in my life, my brother and two sons, and all of them love rugby. Its a good sport, don't get me wrong, but I just can't get in to it.

They love it so much that they watch it every weekend and play it whenever they can, and now with the world cup coming up they are really getting excited. My brother is actually going to New Zealand to watch the USA games!

So as a gift for his last birthday I bought him a USA jersey, you can't go to any kind of football game without the right jersey on.

Rugby Shirts for men have all the jerseys for every team you support, all the latest shirts are out now too just in time for the world cup.

The USA one is actually very nice, if I was a fan I probably would have bought one for myself.

LEGO Birthday gifts

Its that time of year again, I have quite a few grandkids now, and three of them have birthdays in June. They are all still pretty young 6-12 so its not too hard to think of gifts for them, and once you know they like a gift you can get them similar things the next year.

This year I'm getting them all lego again, they probably know by now that I'll be getting them LEGO but they still love it.

For the eldest I'm getting him a new LEGO star wars 3, and for the other too I'll be getting them one of the Harry Potter LEGO or Lego Pirates sets, they love both of those.

Take my advice and start buying your kids or grandkids lego now, they will start collecting it, and it's always fun to play with.

More Great LEGO

I still remember buying lego for my kids about 30 years ago, and not surprisingly it was one of their favourites.

Now the range of LEGO has just gotten bigger.

My son is in his 40's now but I new he would get a kick out of LEGO so I bought him one of the LEGO architecture range, it was a replica of the Guggenheim museum, and he sat with it for almost 3 hours straight until he had it finished. He absolutely loved it, so now I know what I'll be getting him for birthdays and Christmas!

I also bought his son a piece from the lego kingdoms, this stuff is really 'cool' as the kids say. It's not based on cartoons or movies, instead it makes the kids use their imagination to play with it.

LEGO is always a great gift, and now you can get it for kids of all ages.

Polk Audio RM6750 speakers

This is the gift I'm getting for my son in law this year.
He's a real musico and has a grat ear for sound. Unfortunatly like most musicians he is flat broke and can't afford a decent set of speakers. So the Polk Audio RM6750 speakers will be sitting under our tree for him when he comes over on christmas day.

I hope he has a decent stereo to hook them up to as his birthday is not until next October. Thats a long time to wait.

I've heard these are really good hooked up to your telelvision too, so I might have to get him to try them out here before he takes them home.

JBL e80

I just bought the best gift for my son. He's a musician and when he's not playing music he's listening to it.
I bought him a pair of JBL e80 speakers.

thsi website http://JBLe80.com recommended them, and after trying them out at a local store I bought them from Amazon. It only took a couple of days for them to arrive, and now they are safely under the christmas tree.

I can't wait until he opens these. Buying my family the perfect christmas present has always been a priority for me. know I just have to find one for my daughters, grandchildren, and of course my wife!

Not getting lost now!

My wife is the worst person in the world at giving or taking directions. She can get lost just going to pick the kids up from school. Thats why I bought her a Garmin Nuvi 760. I trialled a couple of different models, the Garmin Nuvi 255w was also excellent, but didn't have the same features.

When I tried the Garmin nuvi 200 I knew it wouldn't be right for her, she needed a GPS device that told her where to go, and called out the street names while doing it.

Some of the GPS systems on the market will tell you where to go but not say the street names, just say turn right in 300 yards. This is all well and good if it is obvious which right turn to take, but having the street names makes it so much easier.

She is extrememly happy with the Garmin 760, and when she's happy I'm happy.

For the car

If you are looking for a great christmas gift for a friend who is nuts about driving then you should have a look at a GPS system. The Garmin range is outstanding.

The garmin nuvi 200 is compact and easy to use, but is absolutely packed with features. I bought this for my wife recently (she's not too tech-savvy) and she loves it. She picked up the basics in no tiem and now she uses it almost every day.

For me I got the garmin nuvi 255w. It's a slight improvement on the 200 but is about the same size. The screen is slightly bigger which makes it easier to read the directions etc, but you don't really need to be able to read as it will speak the directions to you if you want.

These two GPS systems are at the low end of the expense list for this type of device, and there are some really good specials on them at the moment.
